The airport of Crotone-Sant’Anna, is also called Airport “Pythagoras” in honor of the Greek philosopher who came to Crotone to investigate the origin of the universe.
It is an Italian airport, the third in Calabria, located 15 km south of the city of Crotone, in the direction of Catanzaro, which is about 40 km, in the municipality of Isola di Capo Rizzuto.

Crotone [Krotone] is a town and municipality in Calabria. Founded in 710 BC as a colony of Greece (ancient Greek: Κρότων or Ϙρότων , Latin: Kroton), it was known as Cotrone from the Middle Ages until 1928, when its name was changed to the current one.
In 1992 it became the capital of the newly established Province of Crotone. Since January 2016, its population is 62,178.
